We started before we had the land.
For years, Desert Rose Tallow was a dream we kept putting on the shelf. Joining the military, moving for school, and starting a helicopter career kept delaying our start. It is hard to invest in a homestead when you are bouncing around the globe every 2-3 years!
Last year, around my birthday, I asked myself: why not now? Why not start part of it and build as we go?
So I made one small batch just for me: grass-fed and finished tallow, organic herbs, and Nordic berries, blended into a luxurious face cream to rescue my own chronic dry skin. That batch became the start of Desert Rose Tallow.
